Μου δίνετε την ευκαιρία να σας πω μια ιστορία που μόλις έμαθα στο Λονδίνο συζητώντας με τον Mark Rassmusen (ex Spink τώρα MR Numismatist).

Στην τελευταία λίστα του (Ανοιξη 2017) είχε μεταξύ αλλων πολύ αξιόλογων νομισμάτων και ενα Crown του 1926 ΒU τιμή £700 (από μνήμης αλλά κάπου εκεί). Ο Μark κάτι δεν του πήγαινε καλά και αποφάσισε οτι ήταν Proof. To αγόρασε ο ίδιος (τα νομίσματα της λίστας ήταν ολα ενος συλλέκτη ιδιώτη) και το έστειλε στο Royal Mint για μια δεύτερη γνώμη. Το RM αποφάνθηκε οτι ήταν όντως Proof. Να φανταστείτε είναι τόσο σπάνιο που έχει αρνηθεί προσφορά £15.000!

Είναι πολύ δύσκολο να καταλάβει κανείς την διαφορά ενός Proof απο ένα BU εκείνης της εποχής και χρειάστηκε το έμπειρο μάτι του Mark για να βγει λαβράκι.
