We are delighted to welcome Giannis Malefakis to Leu Numismatik, where he has recently joined us as a Junior Numismatist.

Giannis has been collecting coins since the age of 14, drawn to the way they bringhistory to life and how even the smallest details can tell remarkable stories. He has been a member of the Panhellenic Numismatic Union (Greek Numismatic Association) since the beginning of his collecting journey and has gained valuable practical experience working with auction houses in Greece and abroad.

His research focuses on medieval and early modern coinage of the Hellenic world, with particular emphasis on Venetian issues that circulated in Greek territories. This interest naturally led to his book—bringing his passion and scholarship together:
