2001 Royal Mint Certificate for Alderney and Guernsey Coins Error Wrong Weights and Diameters

The British Royal Mint usually get their facts and specifications correct on their certificates, so it was surprising to come across this example from 15 years ago.

Whoever wrote the certificate transposed two columns in the Specifications table, and stated that the diameters of the two sovereign sized coins to be only 7.81 mm instead of 22 mm; and the weights to be 22 grams instead on 7.81 grams. Nobody appears to have notice the cock-up before the certs were printed and packed with the coin sets to which they belong.

It is also surprising that it has taken so long for the boob to come to light.
